Description

Tempest is composed of lighthearted, good-natured, unselfish players who wish to take raiding seriously. In order to achieve and maintain these goals, we have drafted these requirements and guidelines that all members, including officers, are expected to adhere to. Raiders will be expected to show up on time, fully prepared, ready to listen to their raid leaders, discover or learn their rolls and responsibilities and perform accordingly.

Player Behavior In Guild- No Drama

Tempest understands that players will not always agree with or get along with one another and that situations may arise that present conflict. We also understand that every guild member may not always understand or agree with every rule or decision that the officers make. These things will happen. What is important is the manner in which our members react to them.

Concerning disagreements and misunderstandings between players, if a member has a problem with the actions or comments of another guild member, s/he is asked to disagree civilly and constructively or disagree silently. If a problem persists or a guild member requires a resolution, they should contact a Guild Officer who can set about resolving the problem.

Concerning disagreements or complaints with a guild rule or the officers' decisions: We are a guild built by adults for adults and we have a 'Freedom of Speech' mentality that allows members to discuss the guild without fear of retribution. We do ask, however, that players first seek to understand why a decision is made before it is discussed or critiqued and to afterwards discuss the topic in a constructive and civil manner. The officers put a lot of work into the guild and it is sometimes difficult not to take personally a harsh critique from a player who may not have taken the time to understand the officers' point of view.

Having said that, we will have very little tolerance for drama, uncivil behavior, or what we perceive as bitching for the sake of bitching. There will be no place in the guild for those who can’t treat others with courtesy and respect. If a player is told 'No Drama' by an officer, s/he is advised to stop discussing the current topic immediately, as this is a warning that an officer feels the conversation or thread needs to end.

Member Conduct Outside of Tempest Guild - Pugs, Groups, Random/Heroics, Battle Grounds, Chat Channels, etc.

Concerning disagreements and misunderstandings between players, if a member has a problem with the actions or comments of another player, the Tempest member is asked to disagree civilly and constructively or disagree silently. If a problem persists it is suggested that the Tempest member withdraw with dignity. It is counter-productive to continue to trade words with someone unable to grasp the concept of civility. Avoid being the antagonist. If a Tempest member requires a resolution, they should contact a Guild Officer who can set about taking the necessary steps towards resolving the problem.

You are a member of Tempest, you wear the guild tag over your head. Your actions and behavior good or bad, reflects upon the entire guild. Wear the name of Tempest proudly and treat it with the respect it deserves.

Any player, regardless of rank or tenure, who displays an inability or unwillingness to treat others in a polite manner (whether guild mate or on the WoW Forums, Battle Grounds, Random/Heroics, Blizzard Chat Channels (and anything that may have been missed or unmentioned) will first be approached by an officer of Tempest. The officers will investigate in an un-biased manner in order to be able to make a just decision. Should it be found to be true with no resolution, the member will be asked to leave Tempest. There is always a better way to approach and handle a situation(s) and/or incident(s).

Age

Though we prefer that the guild attempt to maintain a 'PG-13' atmosphere, players must be at least 18 years of age to be a member of Tempest. Guild and vent chat may occasionally stray towards adult language and discussions and we do not want to be responsible for exposing minors to such things and/or deal with concerned parents. Any deviation of this rule is by officer approval on a case by case basis. The Officers of Tempest reserve that right.
